Despite appearances, the driver of this railroad maintenance truck, which collided with a Pro Trucking Co. trailer, reportedly sustained only minor injuries. This collision took place just before 7:15 a.m. today near the intersection of County Roads 46 and 38 just east of the truck stops. County Road 46 was closed off for a short time. Responding to the accident were the Albert Lea Township Fire Department, Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and the Albert Lea Police Department. Checking on the truck’s cab was a sheriff’s deputy.

I drive through this area nearly every day and it is a very dangerous location. With all the semi traffic it's hard for anyone to see (which is probably not the case in this situation)....but what will it take before the DOT installs proper traffic signals? I wonder if any studies on safety have ever been conducted as to this site. Glad everyone was ok.

I also drive 46 every day and have had a major accident there! They need to start patroling it more and start ticketing the semis and others that don't stop at the stop signs, it's very dangerous!

Look how long the truck stop was at the old location and how many accidents happened there. They never did put up signal lights, I don't know how many times someone has to be injured or die before some sort of signage is put up.
