Watershed approves budget, levy

The Shell Rock River Watershed District Board of Managers today unanimously approved the district’s 2009 administrative budget, 2009 sales tax budget and 2009 administrative levy.
The administrative levy was set at $250,000, the maximum the watershed district can levy.
The sales tax budget was set at $2.874 million and the administrative budget was set at $442,493.
“Basically we’re following the same budget,” said watershed Administrator Brett Behnke.
The levy did not increase at all from last year, Behnke said, and the budget is higher only because there are projects still in the works from the previous year or not anticipated to be complete until 2009.
