Up to alternative fuel choices.
Gasoline is expensive and in Freeborn County we have wonderful resources for alternative fuels — Exol and the new Ethanol plant anyone? By the way, gas prices are on the rise, again.
Down to cold weather.
Wasn’t it 80 degrees a week ago? What happened to that? This is April, not January, and many of us had to pull out our winter coats again, just after they returned from the dry cleaner.
Up to Dan Dorman.
Being selected as the new executive director of the combined board of the Albert Lea Port Authority and Greater Jobs Inc is exciting. No one is better qualified for the job. Congrats. We know you’ll do a great job in bringing economic development to this area.
Up to the Crime Victim’s Crisis Center.
They offer support to victims and really give their time to something that goes unnoticed by many. The victims thank you and so do we.
Down to drivers who don’t respect the pedestrian crosswalks.
They are there for a reason, abide by them. With the warmer weather approaching — hopefully — more people will be out and about walking, running or otherwise enjoying the scenery. That means more people crossing the street, so drivers keep your eyes peeled.
Up to the brave kids who attended the Easter egg hunt.
Those who bundled up and endured chilly weather to hunt for eggs Saturday at Edgewater Park showed their Easter spirit. Don’t eat all the candy too fast.
Up to Mary Ann Bowman-Taylor.
This neat lady started Crossroads Community Hospice 22 years ago and just retired. Countless families have made it through a difficult time in their lives thanks to the help of hospice. We wish her the best and hope she finds lots of opportunities to stop and smell the roses.
