USC girls’ golf earns win in home triangular

The United South Central girls’ golf team came up with a victory Tuesday in Wells over Fairmont and Blooming Prairie.

Stephanie Herman took home medalist honors with a 50 to lead the Rebels. Kirsten Amberg added a 54, Ali Wood a 56 and Erin Hotzler a 56 as USC finished with a 216 to edge out Fairmont by two strokes. Blooming Prairie finished third with a 246.

The boys’ team finished third with a 193 against Fairmont and Blooming Prairie.

The Cardinals won the meet with a 169 behind medalist Adam Wondra’s 38.

Derek Resler led the Blossoms with a 38 as they finished second with a 170.

Sam Gackstetter led the Rebels with a 42. Matt Hassing and Hayden Feist shot 50s and Erik Willaby had a 51 for USC.
