Tri-State Tax & Accounting has welcomed Shannon Halla to the firm.

Halla is practically a native of Albert Lea, having lived here since she was just a few years old. She is the daughter Bill and Mary Daly, longtime residents of Albert Lea.

Halla graduated from Albert Lea High School. She attended South Dakota State University, where she started a degree in nursing. Transferring to Winona State Unniversity, she began her accounting degree and graduated in 1998 with a bachelor of science degree in accounting and a minor in business administration.

After graduation she moved to Arizona and started working as a staff accountant in a local accounting firm, where she met her husband, John. Her work included preparation of financial statements, individual and business tax returns. Other employment opportunities at two other firms gave Halla experience with small business owners accounting and consultation, audits and reviews as well as specializing in accounting and tax for medical groups. She studied for her CPA license and received her certification in 2003.

The Hallas have three daughters, ages 4 months, 2 and 5 years. She says in her “free time” she enjoys spending time with her girls, her family, reading, exercising, and when weather permits, time outdoors on walks or at the park.
