Coleman jeopardizes American future

Published Wednesday, February 11, 2009

I find it amazing that over the recent years, Republicans postured themselves as a corporate hostile take-over of our government. And, as they boast of how government is the problem, they currently make it especially clear that they are going to be the problem as obstructionists, good little Joe McCarthyites and Herbie Hooverites, on behalf of government actually serving the best interests of the people, such as taking steps to bolster our very troubled economy.

For Normie Coleman to persist as he is in managing only to stall the inevitable, but to virtually single-handedly further jeopardize our economic base, perhaps to ultimate doom. Clearly, the lack of Al Franken’s vote on behalf of the proposed measures, further endangers the future of not only Minnesotans, but all American citizens. Their current antics are simply unconscionable, and will be around for a long time to haunt them as many of us try to make that radical right-wing extremist party become history.

Mr. Mammel, you certainly are a bitter man. It's unfortunate that Franken has resorted to Chicago style shenanigans in his effort to steal the election... I don't know how that ends up being Coleman's problem. Even the Democrats in the Senate don't want Franken, other than his vote... they know he is trouble from the get-go. Unfortunately, Minnesota will get what they deserve for even giving Franken a chance to win, which he didn't.

Mr. Mammel, you need to look back at history and see why we are in such dire straights with the economy and it can all be traced back to the Democrats in Congress. The Republicans were sounding the trumpet years ago, but Barney Frank and his cronies kept saying that Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were good for America... yea... see where that got us. We wouldn't have had to go to Iraq if it hadn't been for Jimmy Carter and all his behind the scenes deals with Arabs in the Middle East. President Clinton also laid out his agenda that helped weaken America. Yes, Bush was not a stellar President... and I was deeply disappointed in what he accomplished, but you must look deeper to find who is really at fault here....

And when it comes down to it... we, the American people are at fault. We have elected a bunch of people that don't respect us and do what they want, promoting their agenda over what's best for us. We need to make term limits for our elected officials so they stop building their kingdoms. We need to throw out our Senators and Congresspeople that don't do as they should. We really need to start over. We as Americans have failed to hold our representatives responsible for their actions. We need to start doing that... now!

The death of America will be finalized when people like Norm Coleman roll over and not fight for what is right.

Hang in there Normie, the longer you fight this the less time we might possibly have to put up with someone who is unfit to be the senator from (any state) Minnesota.

Norm needs to move on regardless of his current party affiliation...was it more than a decade since he was a Democrat? We need Senate votes.

What Mr. Mammel and the D's really want, is a one party system. Open the borders wide, allow all the illegals in and give them voting rights. Be careful what you wish for Mr. Mammel. No checks and balances are NOT what our founding fathers had in mind.

Mr. Mammel,

Norm Coleman has done more for Minnesota than just "cast votes"! Al Franken is a clown, and is more suited to a circus parade than the U.S. Senate. He has absolutely no qualifications, is disrespectful, and thinks that he can just buy his way into the Senate. God Bless Norm for continuing the fight, which is his legal right to do! Maybe in the future, Minnesota should have a run-off election when 2 candidates are so close in votes. By the way, I agree with dinomac. Well put! Maybe Pee-Wee Herman should run for congress from Minnesota, too!

"The death of America will be finalized when people like Norm Coleman roll over and not fight for what is right"

The fight stopped in the 70s when Americans put down their shovels and then picked up the phone and called their broker. The lazy 'X' and 'Y' generations that followed are symptoms of that failure of direction in the 70s.

The "we are all special" brainwashing does have an effect.
What isn't handed to these spoiled brats on a platter is not worth fighting(or dying) for.
