Albert Lea school officials to make visit today
Board determines team that travels

The Albert Lea school board Tuesday evening set the team of officials who will travel north to visit school districts of the two finalists in the search for a new Albert Lea superintendent.
The travel team comprises the school board chairman, a district administrator and a community member.
The result is today Chairman Bill Leland, Director of Curriculum Judy Knudtson and Albert Lea retiree Terry Cochran travel to the Bird Island, Olivia, Lake Lillian School District, usually termed BOLD. The district is where finalist Mike Funk works as the superintendent.

The trio travels Thursday to the Pine River-Backus School District. It is where finalist Cathy Bettino is the superintendent.
Leland said the team will report finding to the Albert Lea Board of Education on Monday or Tuesday next week.
The BOLD School District’s administrative offices and high school is in Olivia. According to Google Maps, it is a three-hour drive of 174 miles.
The Pine River-Backus School District’s facilities are in Pine River. According to Google Maps, it is a four-hour, 40-minute drive of 255 miles.
