Senior night for the United South Central girls' basketball team was an impressive one as the Rebels scored a big 76-67 win over 2AA West Subsection No. 1 seed Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Friday in Wells.

USC head coach Stu Hendrickson started all four of his senior varsity players and they came through in the first half as they helped build a three-point halftime lead.

Senior Ciara Christenson scored 16 points, including hitting four 3-pointers. Seniors Lindsay Dahl and Nicole Youngbloom each had nine points in the game for the Rebels (14-12 overall, 11-5 Gopher) in their win.

Senior Sabrina Bushlack scored just three points, but came up with 11 rebounds, five assists and three blocks in a solid all-around game.

The Rebels, however, were led in scoring by sophomore Val Sahr who had 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Four players scored in double figures for the Buccaneers (18-8, 12-4) in the loss. Amanda Barton led the way with 15 points while Nicole Brockmiller, Cassie Masberg, and Stephanie Lindahl all had 13 points.

The Rebels are seeded fifth in the section and will face No. 4 seed Maple River Tuesday in Mapleton at 7 p.m.
