Bulldogs score second straight win

The Lake Mills boys' basketball team closed out a strong week of play with another big win Friday with a 67-60 win over West Hancock in Britt.
The Bulldogs (3-6, 2-2) got a huge game from Chris Throne as he exploded for 27 points and 10 rebounds. Throne hit six 3-pointers and Marcus Gaskill went added 20 points and 10 rebounds.
It was the first time in head coach Kyle Menke's career that he could remember two players scoring 20 or more points and hauling in 10 or more rebounds.
Lake Mills got a big lift from Tyler Rice at the end of the third quarter when he hit a 3-pointer from midcourt to give the Bulldogs a six-point lead entering the fourth quarter. The shot capped off a 22-point quarter for Lake Mills. Rice finished with seven points.
The Eagles (4-4) were led by Brandon Goins, who went for 26 points.
It was the second consecutive win for the Bulldogs after they knocked off Osage Tuesday in Lake Mills.
"It was a good win for our kids," Menke said.
The Bulldogs face Garner-Hayfield Tuesday in Garner.
