You Can Help
Published Saturday, January 10, 2009
The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for other things, call Beth Spande, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.
American Cancer Society: The Daffodil Sales that will be done in early March need leadership from good organizers. If you can help with the behind-the-scenes planning and footwork, the leadership team welcomes you. We need people to do publicity, pre-sales, and distribution.
The Rock: Help after school (3-5:30 p.m.) when there are lots of kids around. Play games, chat with the kids, just be a positive adult presence. Choose a day and interact with youth.
Martin Luther King Breakfast: The 21st annual MLK Day Breakfast will be held at First Lutheran Church at 7 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 19. Can you help serve breakfast and clean up? Call Beth at 377-7433 to volunteer.
RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, Minnesota Board on Aging, and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
