People shouldn't leave their property laying around(especially by the lake) if they are worried about it. Actually anyone that leaves their lawn chairs, blankets etc. in order to save a spot for the parade are kidding themselves. If an actual person comes to sit down in the spot "saved" they can move the stuff aside and the owner of property can say nothing about it. Once you leave your stuff where it doesn't belong it is abandoned property. And the boulevard does not belong to the homeowners, it belongs to the city. If you want a good spot for the parade, then sit yourself down and wait.

However, it's also illegal to throw stuff into the lake. From what I heard it was allegedly a bike patrol officer that threw the chairs into the lake.
