Severe thunderstorm warning in Winnebago, Worth Counties
Freeborn County severe thunderstorm watch expires

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Winnebago and Worth counties in Iowa until 10:15 p.m.
Radar indicated a severe thunderstorm 5 miles southwest of Lake Mills, Iowa moving east at 50 mph around 9:18 p.m. The storm was capable of producing 60 mph winds.
The storm was expected to be near Lake Mills around 9:25 p.m.
At 8:48 p.m., the National Weather Service reported a severe portion of the storm near Bancroft, Iowa moving east a 35 mph. The storms was capable of producing 70 mph winds.
A severe thunderstorm watch had been issued for counties in Minnesota and in Iowa. The watch included Freeborn County, but the watch expired at 9 p.m. The watch includes Worth County in Iowa.
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Faribault and Martin counties in Minnesota until 9 p.m.
A strong portion of the storm was located about 10 miles west of Elmore at 8:18 p.m. moving east at 30 mph.
At 7:53 p.m., the National Weather Service reported a severe thunderstorm was near Fairmont. The storm is capable of producing strong winds of 60 mph and large hail. The storm is moving east at 35 mph, and the storm is nearing Blue Earth, Bricelyn and Kiester.
The National Weather Service People in the path of this storm are recommended people in the path of this storm seek shelter and stay away from windows.
