U-15 boys’ soccer season ends

The Albert Lea U-15 boys’ soccer team season ended two weeks ago in the district playoffs when the team was defeated 4-0 by Glencoe.
At halftime the score was 1-0, but the boys ran out of gas in the second half.
Albert Lea was to face Minnetonka in the first round, but Minnetonka forfeited and Albert Lea moved on to face Fairmont, the second-seeded team. Fairmont won one regular season meeting 2-0 and the two teams played to a 0-0 draw in the other meeting.
In the third and final meeting Albert Lea came out on top 2-1 to move on in the playoffs.
Albert Lea finished with a 1-6-3 record.
The team faced a bevy of injuries coming on the field and off the field. Seven players were injured at one time or another during the season.
The team members are Mathew Attig, Nicholas Bera, Aldo Campos, Andy Ehrhardt, Ricky Hernandez, Jonathan Kreun, Curi Lestrud, Lucas Peterson, Lane Schallock, Nate Stadheim, Tyler Shaw, Nicholas Tate, Parker Thompson, Tate Tufte and Darik Weigel.
