Area students on WSU dean’s list

Winona State University has released its dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester. To be included, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or better.

Area students on the list are: Luke Beyer of Bricelyn; Michael Carr, Todd Eyler, Scott Eyler, Jillian Freeman, Danielle Hamberg, Kristen Nelson, Kalia Schulz and Katherine Stehlow, all of Albert Lea; Lindsey Hagen of Geneva; Brandi Hagen of Twin Lakes; Miranda Herman, Rachael Johnson, Jessica Redmanand Kimberly Staloch of Wells; Lauren Kesler of Lake Mills, Iowa; Logan Mullen of Ellendale; Amanda Olson of Kiester; Ashley Tukua and Abby Tukua of Freeborn; and Anthony Wittmer of Alden.

Area students awarded degrees from WSU

These area students completed academic requirements for degrees following fall semester 2008.

Gretchen Chavez of Albert Lea was awarded a bachelor’s degree in social work.

Melissa Morua of Albert Lea was awarded a bachelor’s degree in social work.

Jessica Hendrickson of New Richland was awarded a bachelor of science degree in special education, magna cum laude.

Carrie Hubbard graduates

Carrie Hubbard of Albert Lea was awarded a bachelor of arts degree in communication studies, summa cum laude, from Minnesota State University, Moorhead at winter commencement exercises Dec. 19, 2008.

Hubbard is a graduate of Albert Lea High School.

Abby Phillips on UNL dean’s list

Abby Leigh Phillips of Hartland was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. To be included, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.7 or better.

Phillips is a freshman majoring in biological sciences in the College of Arts & Sciences.

Area students on RCTC fall dean’s list

Rochester Community and Technical College has announced its fall semester dean’s list. The following area students have achieved a grade point average between 3.0 and 4.0 for courses completed in the fall semester.

From Albert Lea: Meaghan Lynn Christian, Kimberly Lynn Ehrich, Mark Robert Houg, Daniel Joseph Kjos, Elizabeth Constance Nieman and Randi JoAnn Ramsey.

From Hayward: Michael James Christenson.

Area students on Wartburg dean’s list

Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, has released its 2008 dean’s list.

To be included, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or better.

Area students included are:

Aaron Bartholmey, a senior, son of William and Mary Bartholmey of Albert Lea.

Hannah Gudal, a junior, daughter of Gregory and Robin Gudal of Albert Lea.

Logan Hansen, a freshman, son of Michael and Dorenne Hansen of Glenville.

Daniel Bestul on dean’s list

Daniel Lyle Bestul of Northwood, Iowa, was named to the Upper Iowa University, Fayette campus fall 2008 dean’s list. To be included, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or better.

Area students named to UW-River Falls dean’s list

The University of Wisconsin-River Falls fall semester 2008 dean’s list includes a number of area students. To be included, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or better.

From Albert Lea: Stephanie RaMona Sternberg, 421 Meredith Road, an elementary education major.

From Ellendale: Lisa Marie Demmer, 6703 SW 118th St., a dairy science major.

From New Richland: Emily Ann Hagen, 538 Broadway Ave. S., a business administration major.
