Driver injured in crash

— Daniel Arden Smith, 34, no address listed, was injured in an automobile wreck northwest of Myrtle at 3:15 a.m. today, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.

Smith was airlifted from the scene near the intersection of county roads 30 and 13 and taken to a Rochester hospital, according to a Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

A preliminary report said Smith’s pickup left the roadway, struck a utility pole and then struck a tree.

Fire departments from Myrtle and Glenville responded to the scene.

No further information regarding this crash or Smith’s condition was available at press time.

Tires slashed

Albert Lea police are investigating a report of tires being slashed on a Dodge Dakota sometime early Tuesday morning in the 800 block of Freeborn Avenue.
