A special salute was made to Kirkwood Adams of Glenville on Saturday at the nation’s World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. Adams, a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, died on Nov. 13, 2008, and therefore was unable to make the honor flight to the nation’s capital. However, four of his friends from Glenville took the flag used at his funeral and placed it at the Minnesota pillar. From left are Bob Knutson, Harold Knutson, Sparky Gore and Roger Bailey.
