Viking boys' and girls' golf takes third at home meet

The Northwood-Kensett girls’ golf team placed third in a home triangular with North Butler and Central Springs Thursday at the Northwood Country Club in Northwood, Iowa.
The Vikings shot 243 to finish behind the Bearcats who shot 201 and the Panthers who shot 221.
Kate Hartman finished fourth overall with a 50 while Courtney Eilertson tied for seventh with a 58. Kelsey Tenold added a 66 while Carly Johnson and Emma Hendrickson each carded 69s.
Kristen Montag won medalist honors with a 41 for Central Springs.
The Northwood-Kensett boys’ team finished third as well in a triangular with Central Springs and North Butler.
The Panthers won the meet with a 169 while the Bearcats shot 181 and the Vikings 183.
Cody Fredericks led Northwood-Kensett with a 44. Alex Hanson shot 45, Jordan Reindl 46 and Trent Midtgaard 48.
Mark Brodersen was medalist with a 38 for Central Springs.
