Peek at the Past
Published Monday, November 2, 2009
Here are highlights in history for Nov. 2, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1993 — The Albert Lea area office of the Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services moved from the Lea Center Building to the former creamery building at 132 N. Broadway Ave.
1983 — The Minnesota Planning Agency said Freeborn County had the largest percentage of decline in population within the state. A Tribune editorial said this was just an estimate.
1973 — For the first time in 24 years, Oscar Jordahl would not be a candidate for re-election as the mayor of Manchester.
