Retired educators to meet Thursday

The Albert Lea Area Retired Educators will meet Thursday at Americas Best Value Inn. Fellowship starts at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon.

The program is “Getting Acquainted with Dr. Mike Funk (superintendent of Albert Lea Area Schools).” There will also be an update from the Freeborn County Museum, Library and Historical Village.

All retired school personnel are invited to become members. Call Ann Berry at 373-6004 if you haven’t been called and plan to attend.

Members need to keep abreast of the actions of the legislative commissions on pensions and retirement and the state board of investment as they relate to the Tax Reform Act and Public Employees Retirement Association. Memberships are support of representatives who are concerned about pensions and retirement.
