Peek at the Past

Published Monday, November 9, 2009

Here are highlights in history for Nov. 9, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1993 — Videos based on teen and family issues were available for overnight and weekend rental at The Rock, 116 W. Clark St.

1983 — David Sayre, assistant director of the Albert Lea Area Vocational Technical Institute would be replacing Wayne Broecker as director on July 1.

1943 — A 10-inch snowstorm disrupted highway travel and delayed trains. Also, the city didn’t have the snowplows ready to go to clear off roads and streets.
