The Albert Lea Cantori will present its annual “Singing in the Season” concert at 4 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. Music will include Mendelssohn’s “There Shall a Star,” John Jacob Niles’ “I Wonder as I Wander,” Daniel Gawthrop’s “This Child, This King” and many traditional carols and hymns. The Albert Lea Cantori is comprised of singers from the Albert Lea, Hayward and Wells. The Albert Lea Cantori was begun in 1971 under the direction of Gene Janssen. Eileen Nelson Ness has been the director since 1979 and Gail Thurnau is the accompanist. Cantori is always looking for dedicated singers interested in singing choral literature from all eras. Anyone interested in singing in the Cantori in the future should contact Ness at 377-2075. The concert is open to the public. An offering will be taken and proceeds will be given to the food shelf.
