1982 — Pamida Inc. applied for $1.5 million Industrial Development Revenue bonds through the city to finance construction of a second store on North Bridge Avenue.

1952 — Al Ruble was elected president of the Freeborn County Agricultural Society (the fair board) to replace Juel Nelson.
