The Lens & Shutter Photography Club held its Oct. 15 meeting at the Rofshus Precision Machine Building with Darcy Sime presiding. There were 23 members in attendance.

The club is displaying pictures at Albert Lea City Hall during November and December. There is also a running display at the Farmers State Bank, 1452 W. Main St. in Albert Lea. Members will also display pictures at the Hormel House open house in Austin Nov. 19 through Nov. 23.

Members placed their scavenger hunt pictures on poster boards. These pictures will be judged and returned to them at the November meeting. The scavenger hunt was done through the summer months and consisted of every participating member receiving a disposible camera to use taking designated pictures, A through Z.

October’s competition category was cemeteries. Judges were Dorothy Schulz, Dustin Petersen and Pat Mulso.

Awards were presented to: Jamie Hauer, first place for “Honor the Soldiers;” Mitch Pederson, second place for “Hand Shake;” Darcy Sime, third place for “Veteran at Rest.” Honorable mentions were given to: Mitch Pederson, Jamie Hauer, and Dave Sime. Merit Awards were given to: Jim Wendel, Carol Haroldson, Dustin Petersen, Ellen Saul, Sean Passingham, Jean Aamodt, Linda Eisterhold, Barb Rofshus, John Eisterhold, Dave Sime and Jody Newman. Darcy Sime and Cheryl Herold each received two merit awards.

Saul and Petersen provided refreshments.
