Here are highlights in history for Nov. 23, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1989 — A story explained that the “missing link” in the four-lane highway between St. Paul and St. Louis was from Interstate 380 at Waterloo, Iowa, to Interstate 35 near Mason City, Iowa.

1979 — The third in the series of Audubon wildlife films at the high school auditorium would be based on the Galapagos Islands.

1969 — Gifts were being collected at Interstate Power Co. and at the Skyline Mall for children at the Faribault State Home.
