It snowed! White dusting over town

Published Saturday, October 10, 2009

It snowed in Albert Lea Friday night. It was just a trace amount, enough to whiten the rooftops.

It was a dry snow, not a wet snow. According to the weather observation station at the Albert Lea Municipal Airport, the snow fell from shortly before 4 a.m. to a little after 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

As clouds move in today, the high should reach 44. There is another chance of snow to fall today before 1 a.m., then becoming rain and snow. The low today is forecast to be 28, with a southeast wind between 5 and 11 mph.

Monday is Columbus Day, and rain and snow are expected to fall before 1 p.m. that day. The weather should turn to just rain after that time, according to the National Weather Service.

Hey! watch it Tim! That kind of reporting is blasphemous, especially after a cool summer. I didn't see it, it didn't happen...
