Bulldogs sweep into playoffs

Published Tuesday, October 20, 2009

The Lake Mills’ volleyball team was dominant during the regular season and don’t show any signs of stopping Tuesday in Manly.

The Bulldogs opened the regional playoffs with a win over Central Springs 25-10, 25-17, 25-19.

Leading the charge at the net for Lake Mills was Lindy Pins and Josie Brackey, each finished the night with nine kills.

Pins was perfect from the service line going 12-for-12. Morgan Fjelstad finished 17-for-19 and recorded six aces from the service line.

Fjelstad also led the Bulldogs with 28 assists and tallied eight digs.

“At times, we played as well as we could of asked for,” said Lake Mills head volleyball coach Jim Boehmer. “The girls had great energy and emotion tonight at the start of the match.”

Lake Mills will be back in action next Tuesday, as they travel to Garner to take on Belmond-Klemme.
