Here are highlights in history for Oct. 22, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1990 — Demolition was nearly completed for the First and Last Chance Liquor Store at the corner of South Broadway Avenue and East Seventh Street. This property would become a parking lot
1980 — Arthur Ludtke Jr. was awarded the J. David Bothum Award for his outstanding community service at the annual meeting of the Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce.
1960 — Robert Sapp, president of Albert Lea’s First National Bank, was elected vice president of Minnesota Bankers Association District 1.
