Sons of Norway

The Sons of Norway, Normanna Lodge 52 met Oct. 14. President Orren Olson called the meeting order.
The three national anthems were sung followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
The communications and bills were read by Deb Stolarcek.
Membership Secretary Carol Fornberg presented a Golden Member Certificate to Norris Lovick for being a member for 30 years.
The cheer committee had sent five cards to members since the last meeting.
A bronze metal was presented to Bob and Bev Field by sports director, Lee Bjelland, for walking the required 100 miles.
Stolarcek reported that 78 people attended the Leif Erickson banquet, which was held at the Lodge on Oct. 9.
Dick Bjelland reported on the district’s centennial ,which will be held in Rochester in 2010. Each lodge has been asked to write an article on the highlights that have taken place in their lodge in the past 16 years.
Olson signed up Pete Bjerke as a new member.
The members of the lodge were invited to Forest City, Iowa, to attend the meeting and program on Oct. 5. There were 18 members present.
The birthdays for October were recognized, followed by the coin march.
November events include:
Nov. 2: association meeting
Nov. 11: business meeting and initiation
Nov. 23: prepare holiday baskets
Nov. 24: book club
Nov. 29: pannakaker Breakfast
Officers of the month are Deb Stolarcek, Bob Haukoos and Julie Bernau.
