Soybeans dumped on property

A report was filed with the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office about a truckload of soybeans being dumped on property northeast of Albert Lea. This unexpected find was made Sunday about 1:45 p.m. The estimated value of the soybeans listed on the sheriff’s report is $9,000.

Person caught in auger

The Worth County, Iowa, Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call Saturday of a person caught in an auger at the Mike Hanson residence at 3961 Pheasant Ave. in Kensett.

Upon arriving at the scene, the injured person had been freed from the auger. He was transported to Mercy Hospital by Mercy Air Life.

Assisting the Worth County Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Manly Police Department, Kensett and Manly Fire/Rescue, Mason City Ambulance and Mercy Air Life.

Who makes the decisions on the leads?
A person injured seems more important than a truck load of soybeans dumped in a field.
