Here are highlights in history for Oct. 27, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1988 — Several of the eating establishments advertising in this issue of the Tribune were: Maxwells, 1119 S. Broadway Ave.; Union Center Club, 404 E. Main St.; Cafe Don’l in the Skyline Mall; and Stephens at the Edgewater Country Club.

1978 — A Halloween party would be at the Starlite Lounge of the Skyline Supp’r Club and have disco as the theme.

1958 — Students at Albert Lea High School were reportedly unhappy with new rules banning “ducktail” haircuts and “improper” clothing.
