Here are highlights in history for Oct. 29, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1990 — A special 40th anniversary celebration would be held the following day at the Wells Municipal Hospital. (On Jan. 1, 1987, this hospital became a part of the Naeve Health Care Association.)

1980 — The Tribune endorsed Thomas Hagedorn for re-election to serve as the representative from Minnesota’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress.

1970 — Sandi Riumph of North Riverside, Ill., was crowned as queen of the first Lea College Homecoming.
