Here are highlights in history for Oct. 30, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1991 — The Albert Lea City Council rejected proposals by the school district to have special parking places on West Avenue by Albert Lea High School for use by staff and visitors.

1981 — Students at Lake Mills High School would be presenting Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical play, “Oklahoma,” on Nov. 6 and 7 in the school’s auditorium.

1951 — Albert Lea’s Trinity Lutheran Church was starting a campaign to raise $100,000 for a new parish house addition.
