Grace Lutheran installs associate pastor

The Rev. Andrea J. Myers will be installed as associate pastor at Grace Lutheran Church, 918 Garfield Ave., at 2 p.m. Sunday at a special installation service. There will be a reception in Myers’ honor between the 8:30 and 11 a.m. services Sunday and following the 2 p.m. installation service. The Rev. Linda Gunderson, synod minister of the Southeastern Minnesota Synod of the ELCA, will preach at the installation service.

Myers is a 1995 graduate of the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va., and a 2007 graduate of Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. She was ordained a minister of word and sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America on Sept. 12, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Springfield, Va.

Myers began her ministry at Grace Lutheran on Friday and Sunday is her first Sunday at worship in the congregation. She will serve in leadership in the worship, youth, education ministries of Grace Lutheran in addition to evangelism and community outreach.
