Dear Family...it was with mixed emotions that we received word from Marcia of Leah's death. Certainly sadness that those of us left behind are deprived of the wonderful human being that was Leah and yet happy that Leah and Joe are united once again. As for a memory of Leah, I (Diane) have NEVER forgotten how warmly Leah welcomed me into the family when Jim and I visited after our wedding in November of 1962. She made me feel as though I had known her forever. We may not have been able to visit very often over the last several years but I will always treasure her warmth and humor.
This is Jim, I too am greatly saddened for our loss, i have so many fond memories of the many happy times together at family gatherings and just visits. my prayers are with you all at this sad time. jim

I remember in the mid fifties when my Grandmother helped Leah with house cleaning (all the Skophammers' called her Petey) that everything stopped at noon and everyone watched "As The World Turns". But by far the most indelible lasting impression of Leah was her laugh. I will never forget it, and neither will anyone who knew her.

Dear Diane, Tom, Melissa, and Laura,
I am so sorry I was not there at the wake of your dear mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. I know how much you will miss her, just as I know how ready she was to go. What a wonderful, full life she had! I am so sorry I couldn't be there in person to comfort you. I pray you find comfort in her longevity and the wonderful memories she leaves behind. I will talk to you soon.
God Bless all of you!
Love always,
Mary Beth
