This photo was taken about eight or nine decades ago and shows that the Albert Lea Ice and Fuel Co. was making the conversion from horse-drawn wagons to trucks to deliver coal and/or ice, depending on the time of the year, to local customers. This firm was then located on South Broadway Avenue by the railroad crossing and to the south of Olson Manufacturing Co.
