A tanker passes a Minnesota Department of Transportation sign Thursday on Interstate 90 north of Albert Lea. The sign warned motorists of the freeway being closed in Austin. The detour sent eastbound traffic north on Interstate 35 to Minnesota Highway 30 and then east through Blooming Prairie and Hayfield. Highway 30 eventually meets I-90 north of Stewartville.
