Pawlenty has one ace in his hand....less taxes. On social issues he would fail the country. He is a businessman, simple and plain. He is another Romney. Phew
"How can a person who has failed at being a good governor succeed at being a good president?"
Well, if one wanted to be a partisan it could be said; Easy, be a democrat. Then you could enjoy the press coverage as they focus on your intentions rather than the actual outcome of your policies.
leftys2221. . . is there a problem with being rich? Why are you collectively throwing all of the republicans into a category of rich and casting them down for having money? I'm not an (R,) I am however an anarcho-capitalist and believe that Pawlenty has done nothing wrong with the way he works with $. The question of social issues is where I hate Pawlenty and most of the Republicans. They claim a moral supremacy due to their roots in the church bleah bleah bla... anyways I was just commenting on your attack (which was intellectually mild) "Richpublicans" that is ridiculous, besides lefties (on the spectrum of government, not necessarily cable news partisan) like the Clintons, Kennedys, Edwards, have buckets O' $ yet they claim social justice for all and want to balance the playing field... hey I understand your frustration, I was a lefty once due to how it would benefit me I came from a broken home with no money then I realized the whole time I worked my way out with no help of the gov. and no one needs their hands to be held by a leviathan that marches on towards more power and less individual rights
"It will not take much to beat Obama and the hugh debt he will leave us with."
I doubt it. Obama is a peoples president. Investing for the long run costs at first. Republicans had there chance. To bad most had there own selfish agenda. (not all) Some of the Dem are no better. At least I know my president is working for me. I mean that is his job. The rest of them too. They are all just public servents.
It is amazing to me how ignorant and racist some people can be in this community. Freedman, really do you have nothing better to do than spread your hate and stupidity? What does the color of one's skin have anything to do with the ability to run a country? Bushwhacker had "light" skin and where did that get us? As an educated, twenty-something, new member of this community it makes me sick to see how close minded some people can be. Have you heard the saying, if you have something stupid to say, keep it to yourself?
Wow. Amazing. The ignorance and insults found on this board. There are many points of view, and all points can be argued in a civil manner, however I see very little of that. Everyone backs into the corner of choice and starts plugging their ears and screaming insults at one another. I read the comments section because I am interested in finding out my neighbors POV... not to wallow in disrespectful remarks.
"Feedman" I find your posts childish and contemptuous. Although I usually hate it when people post in "all caps", as it signifies shouting, thank you. It's like throwing up a flare and it makes it easy to skip over your posts.
ALL CAPS - screaming. I am awaiting the next Scoop Jackson to come along and run for the Presidency. He/she would be more middle of the road by favoring strong defense, social responsibility & moderate taxation.
yeah I called you intellectually mild leftys2221. You seem not to get the grasp of anything outside of the cable news networks and perhaps the DFL who comes to your house and spouts some stuff and or RNC. They are both corrupt, they both want $ and power. But to insult a whole party just because they are rich is Intellectually mild. There are thoughts behind what all these people are doing and you must deconstruct that not just make a lame soccer call like "out of bounds."

At least Obama's intentions are ethical in nature, unlike the last opportunist.

There are certain principals that spell almost certain defeat for any candidate in today's political mainstream.
Pawlenty believes you don't raise the poor by lowering the rich. He also believes that tax cuts make the economy grow.
However, the biggest obstacle he faces is that he is pro-life. That is one thing that won't be tolerated under any political scenario.
