I'm happy to be playing hostess this year to my brothers and their families, although in my little house on the prairie it gets a little cramped! Always good times.

Tim: good list of choices.
We host my in-laws and all of the kids, grandkids, etc. I reallly enjoy cooking for a crowd. I can hardly wait to dig into all those goodies: pickles/olives,lefse, turkey, dressing, scalloped corn, ham, cranberries mashed potatoes & gravy. Then comes the pumpkin pie and pecan pie. Whipped cream!

At my aunt and uncles house. She and my mom always have a full Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings...yep...this is definitely not the time of year to be on a diet.

Because of plans of extended family on Thursday afternoon, we are actually celebrating the "big meal" on Friday at my parents' house.
However, we are hosting "Muffin Day" on Thanksgiving morning at our home. Muffin Day is a tradition we started where we have a brunch consisting of muffins (five kinds last time), fruit, juice, and coffee. It's just a nice, relaxing brunch.
On that note - is anyone going extremely traditional (in the vein of the first Thanksgiving) and having deer, eel, lobster, or fowl (other than turkey) for their meal?

This summer my wife of 30 years left me for a co-worker. I lost the house. So, all the family except me will be together there. I am still trying to be thankful, but another man holding my wife and eating in my house around a table with my kids tears me up inside.

40157, I am very sorry to hear that.

If this guy is just the "other" guy and he's celebrating Thanksgiving with your children, I see something wrong with that and so should your children. I think I would have a heart to heart talk with them before next Thanksgiving. As for your wife and the house thing, see a lawyer real quick.
