Culture_Warrior,
If only it were that simple! There are a lot of factors at play here.
And, a new argument would be wise. It isn't always about whether someone voted for Obama or McCain. It's not always a liberal v. conservative issue.

Paul Tillich, a famous Protestant theologian and philosopher, once said, "Doubt is not the opposite of faith; it is one element of faith." I think he would really appreciate your column, Jeremy. Well done.

Ms. Volz could make much more money in the private sector with the skills and knowledge she has. We are lucky to have her; we're also lucky she chose to work in a public school district.

Totally agree with Rdubb.
I suggest eating at Taco King, Lakeside Cafe, Nancy's, Casa Zamora, Great Grains, etc...they serve fresher and healthier food and are locally owned.

Ernie - ridiculous. You made this personal when it didn't need to be. Find a new outlet for your negativity please.
Hometownguy-congrats...I think all decent people rely on each other for support from time to time, and I don't see that as a sign of weakness. Community is very important.

We are in DC now and had a tour of the Capitol with Walz staffers...they were gracious, nonpartisan and enthusiastic. Seems like he is a good man to work for.
