I wonder if the minors in this case were black if they would be charged as minors? Not to mention if they were male also.

The problem in this whole case is the prosecutor. He is not doing his job to expectations and should be investigated. Appearently he has connections with the girls to "cut them a break". His personal life is affecting his duties of prosecutor.

My other thought on this is, if this would have been 2 18 year old boys they would have already been tried, convicted, and sentanced. Most likely in prison with felony charges.
I think the prosecutor should be removed from the case.

anab, I agree totally. Everybody today is so eager to pass judgement and hammer them with punishment. The idea is to identify the problem and correct the behavior.
