I agree with Me2,blaming the .08 & smoking ban is a very poor excuse!Diamond Jo is the biggest factor to all the clubs & bars taking a hit on their charitable gambling.But go to most any bar or club,& you'll see the smokers enjoying their pleasure outside when they feel the need.Wedgewwod Cove is doing well,& the Moose & Eagles are always busy.I think poor management at the Elks led to their end.Has any one thought of the possibility of one or more people involved in skimming the tills ??????

Just wait until the new Albert Lea International Airport opens.....LOOK OUT.There will be a big increase in cars-taxi's-buses & limos.YES...there should be a stop light out there!!But....first,we'd need to do traffic counts,at least 2 or 3 ,2nd,we'd have to hire a consultant(because our people can't figure it out).So don't look for a MUCH needed stop light for some time!!!!!Plus it's a shared street/road with city/county,so that furthers the problem....WHO WILL PAY !!!!!!Well,that's an easy one.....it'll be us,the BROKE citizens of this city & county!!!!!

Many many great comments.Maybe they should start at the top.Give Miss Vicky & the Chief a pay cut.Then just go across the board.With a new meth receipe out there,we need ALL the police & fire protection we can get !!!! This is no time for jokes,& our leaders are just that.Can see it now,cut police etc. & in six months you'll see the big shots all getting raises !!!!!!!
