If the proposed health bill is such a good idea, why are the very legislators pushing this on the American people excluded from participation?

Do you have any idea the amount of water and energy it takes to produce this stuff? Because of this, the only way biodiesel or ethanol can survive is with taxpayer subsidies.
Sure, most of the farm community is happy, but this is a very short sided energy whose time has already expired. If you will read newspapers from other parts of the nation, it is apparent that the farm belt is the last region to figure out that this stuff is a bad idea on both economic and environmental levels.

Ironic that the rest of the country is beginning to realize that ethanol is not the answer!

Why mention a hearsay power outage without checking with Alliant Energy for a cause, etc? This looks like lazy reporting.

I remember my mother telling me about this suicide. Apparently, the victim hung himself in the courthouse bell tower and wrapped his body in something like a raincoat that would promote decay. By the time the body was found, it was unidentifyable by the day's technology and it was taken right to the cemetary and buried. Not sure if they ever found out who the guy was. Anybody else have a recollection about this part of Freborn County history?

I cannot believe the slap on the wrist these defendents will get. A caregiver in Wisconsin faces charges of fondling three patients and they are talking about a $300,000 fine and 120 years in the slammer. Check this website: http://www.twincities.com/allheadlines/c...
It is my understanding that we are talking about much more than fondling in Albert Lea....What gives? The minimal penalty that Freeborn County is talking about is an insult to every citizen in the county!

My wife was fortunate to work for Wayne. He was a great leader and truly a wonderful man! Our sympathy goes out to Wayne's family.
