I am not a scientist or activist but I wasn't kicked out of first grade because I wouldn't shave. It is my opinion that when something is warming the temperature is steadily increasing over time. It is reported that the temperature has been decreasing since the 1980's. We are also experiencing record lows in the summer months. I would rather base my beliefs on the thermometer than the words of Al Gore.

The President is being judged by his actions, the company he keeps, and the legislation he is backing. The color of his skin has a dampening effect on the uproar against his policies. The constant yelling of racist, racist, etc. by the liberals has been responsible for that. It is their only defense when the truth is told.

The liberties that we lose will be caused by the policies and legislation of our President and a Democratic controlled congress. Our economy will not make any rapid improvement until they feel they have squandered enough stimulus and legislation on pork.

Pierre - You are not comparing apples to apples. Some of the items you mention are part of any cities infrastructure that serve and protect all the residents of the community, libraries and museums are normally voted on by the citizens of the community, and Medicare and Medicaid were contrived by our public official but they are available to all that qualify due to age or need.
The Health Care Reform Bills are designed to give coverage to the uninsured. The number of uninsured in the United States has not been accurately defined at this time. They have mentioned 30-46 million. The illegal aliens have been included, people with incomes high enough to buy insurance but don't want to because of their young age or the overall cost have been included, and another bureaucratic section of government will have to be created to manage it. There are figures floating around that put the number of citizens that actual need help with insurance to be around 10 million. This means that only 3 percent of the population need help. Is this legislation for the common good? Is it for more government control? Can the 3% be covered by existing programs? Is all of this a contrived vote buying scheme?
Let the people vote!

The $250 idea was a political move by our government in Washington. I am not personally aware of any senior citizens begging for it. Senior citizens were forced to invest a percentage of their earnings in Social Security whether they wanted to or not and nobody has the right to pick and choose who should receive it when they are old enough to draw it. Do you think it is fair for Senior Citizens being taxed on their homes to fund the schools when their children are 35 years of age and older? This is something the liberals would not discuss.
The Senior Citizen discounts that I have encountered are either given automatically at the time of sale or you have to ask for them. I personally don't ask for them because it gets too close to begging to suit me.
If the politicians decide to send me $250 I will send it to Ms Goodman if she will let me tell her where to put it.

I always thought that men who wear plaid shirts were more selective on who they drink with.

The illegals from Mexico are not the only problem. We have the State Department loading up the populations of some cities. Minneapolis reportedly has an estimated 80,000 somalis that were resettled there because of all the wonderful facilities and liberal leanings of the Sanctuary City, Minneapolis. These people will never be assimilated into the midwest culture. They will form a city within the city and the taxpayers will have to fund it.
Google Somalis in Minneapolis or Somalis in Minnesota for more information.

Six months from now when President Obama and the democrat congress have stuffed this down our throats we might learn what the bill covers. It is a sad time for our country and the constitution.

We have a lot of people in public office that are making illegal immigration easy for the offenders. I never thought I would see the day when a Minnesota city would provide sanctuary for law breakers. I haven't been to Minneapolis since it became a Sanctuary City. I doubt I will ever go there again.

I based my judgement of Obama on the company he kept prior to the election. I did not vote for him and I really didn't want to vote for McCain but I chose the lesser of two evils. I fear for our country. The lying and spending of our Congress and Executive Branch will be the downfall of this country and anything that happens can not be "fluffed" off by either of them by claiming ignorance.
If our elected officials continue their deliberate attack on our financial foundation we need to start looking for crime to charge them with. WordNet Search -3.0 defines treason as a crime that undermines the Offender's government. We are getting plenty of "undermining" right now.
I am not an extremist. I am not an activist. I just want my children, grand children, great grand children , and great great grand children to be able to compete in a captalist economy without have to pay for the damage done by a bunch of socialists, marxists, communists, and idiots.
