I totally agree with "hockeymom" - there is no reason to list names again. I personally knew some of these ladies and their kids. It has been very hard on these kids without having to bring this all up again, 21 years later!! Put yourself in their place................

I moved away from A.L. over 20 years ago. I visit family at least twice a year. To me - A.L. hasn't grown at all - it's shrinking. I agree with some of you - A.L. needs to do something to attract people to come and keep people there. I moved away - cause there was nothing to keep me there 23 years ago - job wise anyway. I remember years ago,as a teenager, the weekend and summer evening entertainment was "Cruising Broadway" and almost every store front had a business in it. Not anymore and hasn't for years - like KFC or the old Red Owl grocery store. And it's not all of Wal-Mart's fault - some of those places were already gone before Wal-Mart ever came to A.L.. I have considered moving back to MN - to be close to family - but as for work and a city to live in or near by - it wouldn't be A.L. - it would have to be somewhere that had good paying jobs and a city that has "life". A. L. needs to do something to keep the young people there and make changes. Make it a City it once was - a place to be proud of!

After moving three states away after high school - I still make a trip back to Albert Lea for the 4th of July fireworks. The best I have ever see - ever! And all due to donations!!! Awesome!
