"Look to the Tribune for political coverage, particularly next week during the Republican National Convention in St. Paul."

How reassuring.

While a myriad of news outlets will cover national politics next week, how is it the ALT can't seem to muster enough "hands" to report on local politics? And this was for the highest elected office in the city...the city the ALT is supposed to serve.

You expect us to believe that there wasn't one available ALT reporter to "staff" the forum? And that was with "all-hands-on-deck"?

Sounds like the "managing" occuring at the ALT requires substantial improvement.

Scott,

It may be beneficial to "review" the "Guys' Rules." What? You say you've never heard of the "Guys' Rules"? Well, you (and your wife) are in for a treat!

Before listing here a few of my favorites, I'll post the web address for those wanting to see, in detail, the "Guys' Rules" in all their glory: http://tinyurl.com/6x5buq. (Note that all of the rules are "rule #1" by design.)

Now, onward and upward!

1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.

1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done; not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," we will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear.

Those are the ones I like the best. Check out the website for yourself (http://tinyurl.com/6x5buq) and post your favorites!

Very well stated. I would suggest to perhaps take things a step further.

Consider throwing aside allegiance to a particular party and/or individual and, rather, supporting only those, regardless of party and who they are, that will follow their "Oath of Office."

And, as the "Oath of Office" for most elected officials charges them to uphold the Constitution, whether it be at the state or national level, we voters/taxpayers have a written and (hopefully) well-understood standard to which we can hold them accountable.

The Constitution must be first. When it is, all that follows will likely fall right into place.
