I think someone said that if the teachers don't get their pay raised would they lose their homes or be out of a job. Of course not. But as everyone has said these are tough economic times I know a few teachers here in the Twin Cities who have to pick up a second job because of the cuts districts have made. My father taught in AL for 34 years and was able to retire at the rule of 90 could he have taught longer sure but working every month of those 34 years doing things like driver's ed, coaching various sports and also running his own business and helping friends out he earned the right to retire. He also went through many years not getting a raise. I think someone also said that even when times are good we still can not afford to pay teachers what they are worth. But other people when times where good they made money in their job or chosen profession. Of course, the answer for everything on this is site is for the teachers to quit and see what kind of salary they would be making. I guess that is why this town in going in the tank because everyone just quits or bitches about problems and does nothing to offer a solution. Remember people a teacher taught you have to write and form words into sentence so you can rip them in posts like this so go thank a teacher.

InterestedReader: You are wrong with the if you rear end someone "ITS YOUR FAULT!!!" In the state of Minnesota you are at fault if you are in accident. I was rear ended by a woman who was doing 60 - 65 mph in a construction zone and I was not moving. My lawyer told me that I was 10% at fault for just being there. Minnesota got rid of the no fault accident law because insurance companies had to pay so much out due to accidents.

Please if you see any sign of domestic abuse report it. Help someone out who is in a bad situation. I just read in today's Star Tribune of a former co-worker of mine was killed by her estrange husband. Do speak up and help those in trouble.

Ernie in what desert do the French bury their waste? I have travelled in France and did not see any desert. Unless, the was some sort of arid region down by the border with Spain. Until this country can figure out what to do with their nuclear waste you will be hard pressed to get another plant built. As for the windmills clogging up the skies, aren't they usually built in a cornfield that a freeway already runs through? And if so shouldn't you be paying attention to driving and not looking at the sky?

This just continues the tradition that these schools have always doing something to the other's field. I remember hearing stories about how the night before Albert Lea's homecoming a few students from Austin to some lye and burned a big "A" right on the 50 yd line. To get back at Austin for their next home game a few Albert Lea Students burned with lye a huge "AL" on Austin's 50 yd line. I also remember during the Hormel strike instead of chanting "We got spirit yes we do" we chanted "We got jobs how about you?" It is said that buildings were sprayed painted but that can be sand blasted off. Hopefully, these kids remember to keep it harmless. Go Tigers beat the FudgePackers!!!!!

I also remember TP'ing but only during Homecoming. I do remember the Tiger Paws on Bridge that started at the high school. But with the school so close to the football why not let them paint the paws again. I also remember Saran Wrapping classmates to trees during Homecoming as well.
