Apparently you're a cat person. I know there have been several dog pictures submitted, and all you ever pick are cat pictures. Come on.....

What if Albert Lea didn't have so many low end homes and apartments. County welfare cost would drop. I think it's safe to say the need for alot of costly services would in turn go down. What would happen if Albert Lea got more strict with property upkeep? How about keeping responsible property owners at a fair tax rate as a reward, and raising rental property taxes? Let those in need, turn to family and the church for help. Not tring to be mean. I've had help myself. There's a need to change a way of life for some.

ok... Tallyman, please inform me on how my comparing my childhood states that I don't know anything about being a kid these days, and I don't know anything about the education system. I am not that old... and believe it or not, there's not a hudge age gap between my children and me. I relate pretty well with my kids. This article was about the nutrition of our children which should be a concern for any caring parent. Where are the parents?

I'm not understanding... I know for a fact, after raising a family and making it my job to make good healthy meals and save us money at the same time, that it is a lot cheaper to make meals and part of meals from "scratch" and it's much more healthy also. When I was a child in school, foods like pizza weren't the "norm", it was a treat maybe twice a month. Now when you hear the lunch menu, you can honestly see why there is an obesity problem with young kids. Maybe the "Blue Zone" should teach some of these school dietitians about "healthy" foods. It seems that a lot of parents have the attitude towards their children, "out of sight, out of mind". As long as they're not getting into any trouble. It's just a wonder what they're going to pass down to the next generation?

how old are you gander1? If you are old enough, you would have surely seen the growth in Mankato over the last 20 years (ie, Menards, Lowes, Sam's Club, numerous resturants, numerous stores, and industry). Owantonna (Cabela's, Mill's Fleet Farm, numerous industrial firms). As I understand Albert Lea has turned down Cabela's and others from moving into the area because why? We (Albert Lea ) have the ideal location (crossroads of 35 and 90) however we don't make use of it. Why didn't Albert Lea build a "Diamond Joe's"?

I am not understanding this blue zone!? All I can think about is how Mankato, and Owatonna, to name two, have grown in retail and industry. How many jobs will this Blue Zone create for AL? With everything on the rise, all we hear about is cutting budgets. Empty lots owned by the city increases the tax burden on others. The city is wondering how to pay for police protection, and maintance; pawning cost of repairs onto property owners, which should be taken care of with their property taxes. It seems to me the most important thing on simple minds, is to get the T.V. here so we can see ourselves, and feel good. How about True T.V.? Cops on DWI arests, and 60 min. The death of a southern, MN, town.

WOW!!! I can't believe nobody has commented on this article! Don't you proof read your articles before publishing? Run-on sentences, no parallelism, bad grammar. Who writes these articles? This is like a letter to Santa. Who's idea was it for this story in the first place?
