Sure is funny how when the local GOP take’s a hit on there favorite corporate welfare program how they whine. Why should I have to have my taxes go through the roof so some millionaire doesn’t have to pay his fair share?

Let the will of the people be heard

It has been. it is called an election. You had the chance to vote for the Mayor. You have had the chance to vote for your councilperson. Call them and tell them how you really feel.

From 2002 to 2008, real state aid to Minnesota cities has declined by 47 percent.

So how much of the increase in our property taxes we pay to the city has gone to make up for the cuts imposed by the Governor since 2003

Where do we cut next, Police and Fire depts? Snow plowing? Road Maintenance?

Seeing that a house blew up this morning. Would it really be a wise decision to make cuts in these depts?

I can agree that we need to make cut, but public safety has to be off of the table.

I feel sorry for you NoDFL It must be hard to go through life with such a cold heart. Are you so full of greed that you would to deny our citizens and their children health care because they can not afford CORBA after losing there jobs? Would you throw our most vulnerable adults and children into the streets because of the cost of care and medication that they need to live as normal a life as possible?? Would you throw our elderly into the gutter to die because the cost of care in a nursing home has eaten up their life savings and they have nothing left? Would you rather we cut out our Police and Fire protection because of the cost to maintain it is too costly? Would you do away with the care and maintenance for our roads and bridges?
There needs to be safety nets in place.

You can't tell me T-Paw hasn't already raised taxes, He justs calls it a fee. He has spent all of Minnesota's reserve funds to plug holes in past budgets now their's nothing left in the reserves. Then there are the cuts Pawlenty has made in LGA to cities and counties which have cause our property taxes to double in just seven years.
