I, too, wish the best for both of you in this most difficult of times! I will include you in my prayers as well and I am sure that your faith will help you tremendously as you face this challenge.

We don't "need" a bike trail from here to Austin, much less the Mississippi! C'mon! Get real! There are many more projects that need our attention way more than this! How many people would REALLY use a bike trail that long? And if you do use it, than you can pay for it as well!

I agree with NoDFL. EVERYONE in society needs to stop blaming one another and start living by the morals and standards that have made this the greatest country on earth. This starts right here in Albert Lea. By the way, NoDFL, I like Glenn, too!

Mr. Mammel,
Norm Coleman has done more for Minnesota than just "cast votes"! Al Franken is a clown, and is more suited to a circus parade than the U.S. Senate. He has absolutely no qualifications, is disrespectful, and thinks that he can just buy his way into the Senate. God Bless Norm for continuing the fight, which is his legal right to do! Maybe in the future, Minnesota should have a run-off election when 2 candidates are so close in votes. By the way, I agree with dinomac. Well put! Maybe Pee-Wee Herman should run for congress from Minnesota, too!

WOW! A 20-year lease! I cannot wait to find out what kind of business is going to go into this space. They must have alot of confidence. How many jobs will they bring? Just curious.

I agree! Good for you, Ms. Navarro! This is just like a big bank to do something like this. Sounds like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing at this bank. I wonder if this was one of the banks that got a "bail-out" in the financial fiasco. If this bank turns out to be in the wrong, I would sue them for more than what you asked for!

allake,
What I would like is for this town to have more businesses than it currently has! What is it with this town, anyway? I was born and raised here,, and Albert Lea is the same size that it was 40 years ago! (I believe that Albert Lea is the smallest town west of the Mississippi with 2 interstate highways going through it.)This town did not grow when times were GOOD! How do you think it will fare now that times are not so good? What is the excuse now? Being happy with mediocrity will not help us to grow! Wake up! Somebody needs to show some leadership and do something about it!! (Mr. Murtaugh, are you listening?)

Well said, indeed! "Al Franken" is a phony and is not only unqualified to be a senator, he does not deserve to be a senator!

What SPIN! The economy is steady? I would say tht it is more like STAGNANT! That does not bode well considering the eventual effects of the national economic crisis that WILL reach us, too!

Yes, it was quite scary. I was driving west on I-90 on the east edge of Austin just before 8:30 p.m., and I went right under it. Debris was being sucked up at a furious rate, and the pressure drop was so eerie and sudden that I had to swallow a couple of times to adjust. I got out OK, and headed straight to Albert Lea. Fortunately, the tornado was going the other way.
