3 of the 5 are "out" due to being fired/let go/dismissed, except if one pays close enough attention to the article, only 2 of the 5 are wrong...and one is looking at another city in Massachusetts...where they (according to the article) are REALLY wanting him, and probably could afford to pay him. Let's be honest here. Maybe (playing devil's advocate) the city needed the excuse (of honesty) to narrow down the field to reasonably paid Managers. If I am not mistaken, one of the remaining earned $66,000 at his last job, and the other was around $87,000. Unless I miss my guess, that means one was paid over half as less as Vicki, and he was able to budget for smaller towns. He is also from Minnesota, and is currently in state rather in another state. From a financial point, either of the two remaining would be nice to have.

Now, onto the disappearing comment thing. I am with alot of other people here Trib. If the original posting followed the rules, there should have been no reason to censure research YOU even said in your article would happen. The least that could have been done is the comment put BACK on the site after the article ran today.

I understand in the hubbub of it all text alerts couldn't be sent, but should they have been sent as "breaking news" after the fact? Also, the term "for hours" implies more than 2 1/2...could a different terminology have been used?

Just a side note...I come from a land that had tax on just about EVERYTHING! True foods (bread, meat from deli, hamburger etc) were not taxed, but just about everything else was (little debbies, hamberger helper, etc). Clothing was taxed. Tax was at 8.25%. We didn't have to file tax returns for the state, as we had more then paid for it by the 8.25% on everything else. We did get returns back tho :) Something about overpaying with the taxes going to everything....

We have TMobile, and they are really good with their coverage. Have run into a couple of places where they do not have coverage, but we were told that over the next few months, about 30 new towers were going to go up. We are already on their top level (right under 3g), and are about a mile off 35 here in Albert Lea.
It also sounds like Verizon is acting a bit like Altell did when they first came in. Oh well. I guess that is what happens when the field is narrowed down to the top three or four....

I feel completely enlightened by your comments (as always) NoDFL and lefty. You guys BOTH do a great job at presenting ALL sides of the issue..for that I am greatful:)
Not to play part in the "victimization" that I am sure many in our State will try to do, but you are reading the words of one who will be (potentially) greatly affected by the GAMC going out the window. No, I do not suffer some addiction, nor do I have any mental instabilities or illnesses. I DO however have kids who like to share their germs upon occasion, and a tendency towards klutziness. I (as well as my husband) also do not have the income stability at this time (yes..we are part of the statistics...probably the U-6 as my husband maintains two part time jobs currently while looking for other employment opportunities). This being said for that lovely transition to MinnesotaCare (which has the potential at costing up to $40/mo with an income that does not allow for that). I do not want the government to give me a handout, in fact, once we are "on our feet" again,and can afford our OWN insurance, we will be getting it. However, right now, to have the ability to have GAMC in case something should happen is comforting. And to clarify...neither of the adults in this family make anywhere close to $8,000/yr at this point...

I honestly don't care about being first (as we live by an elementary school, we happen to be among the first)...I just don't like the fact that I have to do a three point back up in order to get out of my driveway without hitting the snowbank across the street! Our street doesn't get plowed curb to curb...not even when a block away the same street does....why? That is a good question. When we have asked, we have only been told they just don't. I get the fact that the snow really has no where else to go, but if they plowed curb to curb, or at least plowed to the center and brought out the snowblower, they would have a TON more room.
Sorry for the venting...but it seriously irks me when people have ligitimate questions, and someone else comes along and slams it....

I like "hiding" behind my handle. I only throw in the quote marks because those who know who I am, just that, know who I am. I don't have it to hide, but rather keep myself from misdirected reactions. For a time it was a measure of protection for my husband and his job, or for ourselves when things went bad. Now, it is because I don't feel the need for everyone to know who I am. If I want people to know who I am, I will send them a message letting them know that. As it has already been stated, the Trib already has our info...we should not be required to show our names to the general public if we don't want to.

tiger....
actually, the pass interference call WAS bogus, as the player was no where near the ball. It WAS challeneged...and stood (much like everything else). There were TWO plays challenged by the refs themselves (or called down from "the booth"). One was the Thomas First Down...that literally EVERY person thought was bogus (cept the refs and the Saints)...you could see him going BEHIND the markers. The second was the bobbled ball while going down. The only hope was that he LOOKED like he had haphazardly pinned the ball between two fingers and his leg.

THAT aside, I agree with lefty....they SHOULD have gone with the field goal. They DID blow themselves up...and forgot to stop after halftime. Oh well...at least the Cowboys aren't in it :D

AlbertPlayer;

It would be nice if the coach and even seen him practice, but according to the article:

"When Matt returned to the team in early October it was like he wasn’t even part of the team. He said he did not have a locker space, wasn’t given his number from last season and was excluded from drills."

This tells me that the coach did not even see him practice. I am sure that a good coach can tell if a kid has talent, and is where they need to be in order to play..by watching them play or by watching them practice. It is kind of hard to make that kind of a call when the coach hasn't seen either of those things...
